Will Adams is a Mandarin Chinese teacher in Denver, Colorado, with a passion for helping both students and teachers thrive through acquisition-driven instruction. During his five years at North High School, he built the largest Chinese program in Denver Public Schools by creating engaging, comprehensible, and student-centered language experiences. Next year he is excited to move on and begin building a robust program at George Washington High School.
Will first attended the Agen workshop three years ago as a participant and now serves as the Mandarin Language Lab teacher, supporting educators as they develop confidence in teaching for acquisition. In his work as a Regional Team Specialist for World Languages in Denver Public Schools, he facilitates professional learning, coaches teachers, and helps educators connect research-based best practices to their daily instruction.
Beyond the classroom, Will serves as President of the Colorado Congress of Foreign Language Teachers (CCFLT), where he works alongside educators from across the state to support professional learning and organize state and regional language conferences. A frequent presenter at local, state, and national conferences, he enjoys sharing practical strategies that make acquisition-driven instruction both effective and sustainable.
Now in his seventh year of teaching, Will is committed to continuous learning and believes some of the best professional growth happens when teachers learn from one another. Whether working with students or fellow educators, his goal is the same: to help others discover the joy and effectiveness of teaching for acquisition
